The trailer, which debuted online on November 18 and offers fans a sneak peek at the highly anticipated sequel to 2001’sZoolander, reached 52.2 million views in its first week of release.Paramount’s comedy sequel is set for release on August 23, 2025, where it will go up against 20th Century Fox’sDeadpooland Warner Bros.‘How to Be Single.

The sequel centers on Derek (Ben Stiller) and Hansel (Owen Wilson), who are recruited by Montana Grosso (Penélope Cruz) to stop a deadly killer, who is targeting the most beautiful people in the world. The first trailer revealed that this assassin starts his killing spree with none other than pop starJustin Bieber, who was revealed in aset photoposted by star/directorBen Stillerback in April. Other celebrities this killer has bumped off include Usher Raymond,Demi LovatoandMiley Cyrus.

Montana Grosso tasksDerek and Hanselto infiltrate the world of high fashion, which they used to know first-hand as two of the top fashion models in the world. Derek and Hansel both see this as an opportunity to get back on top of the modeling world, until this sadistic killer targets both of them as well. The trailer introducesKristen Wiigas the new villain, who has teamed up withWill Ferrell’s Mugatu from the original cult classic comedy.

The sequel also brings backChristine Tayloras Matilda Jeffries, who married Derek Zoolander at the end of 2001’sZoolander. New cast members include Cyrus Arnold,Fred Armisen, Kyle Mooney,Billy Zane,Milla JovovichandJustin Theroux. The originalZoolanderonly earned just over $60 million at the worldwidebox office, but it became a cult hit after its release on home video.
