In just five short months,X-Men: Apocalypsewill hit theaters, bringing the current trilogy to a close. The current series began in 2011 withX-Men: First Class, and continued with 2014’sX-Men: Days of Future Past. Earlier today, producerSimon Kinbergheld a video Q&A where he answered several fan questions about this highly-anticipated sequel, arriving in theaters May 27. The producer revealed that this adventure will be the biggest movie in the franchise’s history, and thatOscar Isaac’s title villain is the most powerful villain fans have ever seen.

X-Men: Apocalypse, which wrapped production in August, is set in 1983, 10 years after the events ofX-Men: Days of Future Past. The story centers on the villainous Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), who is awakened after thousands of years of slumber, as he assembles his Four Horsemen,Psylocke(Olivia Munn),Storm(Alexandra Shipp), Angel (Ben Hardy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender). Magneto has been living in exile afterX-Men: Days of Future Past, and directorBryan Singerrevealed last month that he will be more powerful than ever inX-Men: Apocalypse, which is teased in the new concept art.

After Professor X (James McAvoy) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) learn about Apocalypse’s plans, they put together a team of mutants to stop him from going forward.X-Men: Apocalypseincludes a slew of new cast members playing younger versions of previously-established characters. Along withAlexandra Shipp’s Storm andBen Hardy’s Angel, the superhero adventure starsSophie Turneras Jean Grey,Tye Sheridanas Cyclops,Kodi Smit-McPheeas Nightcrawler andLana Condoras Jubilee.

Bryan Singerhas teased in the past thatX-Men: Apocalypsewill be the end of the trilogy that includesX-Men: First Classand last year’sX-Men: Days of Future Past. 20th Century Fox is extending this belovedX-Menfranchise with three more movies that have connections to this universe,Deadpool,GambitandWolverine 3, but 20th Century Fox hasn’t confirmed any further plans. A report surfaced last month that claimedBryan Singeris prepping a mysteryX-Menmovie that 20th Century Fox will release in 2018, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
