Following theextended trailerreleased yesterday with new footage fromFox’sUntitled X-Files Revival, the network has released yet another trailer, although this doesn’t feature any new footage. Instead, we get glimpses of a dual lightning strike that forms an X, and a bizarre formation in the stars, withDavid Duchovny’s Fox Mulder asking, “Are we truly alone? Or are we being lied to?” We still have more than four months before the series debuts on Sunday, January 24, and with production already wrapped on the series, you can surely expect many more trailers in the months ahead.
The X-Files Revival is set thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter ofThe X-Filesis a thrilling, six-episodeevent seriesfrom creator/executive producerChris Carter, with starsDavid DuchovnyandGillian Andersonre-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI AgentsFox MulderandDana Scully.Mitch Pileggialso returns as FBI Asst. The X-Files debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jun 21, 2025 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC Championship Game, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The upcoming event series will encompass a mixture of stand-alone episodes and those that further the original show’s seminal mythology. Three of the episodes are written and directed byChris Carter, with the remaining new episodes written and directed by original series veterans Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan andJames Wong.
The season premiere, entitledMy Struggle, follows Mulder and Scully as they take on the case of a possible alien abductee.David Duchovny,Gillian AndersonandMitch Pileggiwill be joined by original series starsAnnabeth Gishas Monica Reyes,William B. Davisas “Cigarette Smoking Man” and the computer hackers known as The Lone Gunman, Ringo Langly (Dean Haglund), Frohike (Tom Braidwood) and Byers (Bruce Harwood). The X-Filesoriginally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Mulder (David Duchovny), as they investigate unexplained cases -X-Files- for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.
