When it comes toMegan Foxmovies, the goodreviewsare few and far between. Sure,TransformersandTransformers: Revenge of the Fallenwere huge box office success stories. But they didn’t fare too well with critics. The same can be said forTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But there is one movie that the actress is particularly ashamed of. She hates the movie so much, in fact, she’ll never show it to her kids. Heck, she wishes no one in the world ever saw it!
What is this movie we speak of? You won’t be surprised to learn the title. It was a movie so showered with negative reviews, it barely stayed in theaters for more than a week. And it could have easily derailed the entireDCEUline-up that we currently see flourishing withBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Yes, this movie is so embarrassing, she can barely speak its name. Talking to Entertainment Tonight, she had this to say when she explained that her two children won’t be allowed to watch some of her films until they are much, much older.
“It would be nice to make some things that they can see, yeah, because something likeJennifer’s BodyI’m not going to let them see for a long time. Something likeJonah HexI’m not going to let them see ever, no one should ever see that movie.”
With a budget of $47 million, the DC Comics adaptationJonah Hexwas barely able to crawl past $10 million at the box office when it opened in 2010, and its international box office was practically nil. The character hasn’t been completely scrubbed away. While Warner Bros. isn’t planning anotherJonah Hexmovie anytime in the near future, the cowboy is returning soon on The CW’sDC’s Legends of Tomorrow, where he will be a recurring character.
Megan Fox went onto reveal that her next movie,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, which arrives this summer, actually saw rewrites and was readjusted to make it a much more family friendly movie. As it turns out, she isn’t the only one ashamed ofJonah Hex, though.
Apparently, leading manJosh Brolinisn’t a fan either. He believes the movie should have had a way smaller budget. And he claims one of the major problems with the production of the movie is that they had to shoot 66 pages of rewrites in just 12 days. The movie was followed byGreen Lanternin 2011, another DC bomb for Warner Bros. After these two movies, the entire DC slate had to be dismantled, resurrected and completely retooled, withMan of Steelpaving the way in 2013, setting the stage for last weekend’sBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. With her stake already claimed in aDC Comicsmovie, who knows if Megan Fox will ever return to the superhero genre. Perhaps she will seek out even more family friendly movies now that she has two little kids to show them too. What do you think?
