Are you ready to return toWestworld? You’re in luck. The series isn’t set to return until 2018 but HBO isn’t wasting any time trying to get fans hyped forWestworld Season 2. They decided to bring the cast and creators to San Diego Comic-Con this year and they brought a little surprise with them; the first teaser forWestworldseason 2.

Save forGame of Thrones,Westworldis the biggest show that HBO has going right now. And sinceGame of Thronesseason 8 is set to conclude the beloved fantasy series next year, it’s no wonder they wanted to bringWestworldseason 2 toSan Diego Comic-Con 2017to try and secure some love for the future. It seems to be working. The teaser doesn’t include a lot since the new season just started filming this month, but it does tease a little bit of what we can expect in the future. Given the way thatWestworld Season 1ended, there are a lot of directions they can go with it.

Dr. FordAnthony Hopkinsmet his demise before things really hit the fan inWestworld. There is a gang of uncontrollable rogue robots led by Maeve (Thandie Newton) running loose in the park and wreaking havoc and we still have Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) to deal with. Not to mention Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and The Man in Black (Ed Harris) who had quite the big reveal at the end ofWestworldseason 1 as well. Plus, there was the reveal that there are other parks that deal with more than just a western theme. So there is a whole lot for HBO to pull from inWestworldseason 2.

As one might expect, details on what we are going to see inWestworldseason 2 have largely been kept under wraps. Co-creator and Executive ProducerJonathan Nolanhas been hard at work writing the new season and it is a tough show to schedule and build out. That is why there is such a big gap between season 1 and season 2. It’s better that HBO gets it right rather than rush it. That’s for sure. We also know that the premiere episode is going to be titledJourney into Night, which was the title of Dr. Ford’s new narrative that he was working on. How will that work intoWestworldseason 2? We have more questions than answers right now. But that’s part of the fun with a show like this.

HBO has not yet set aWestworld season 2 premiere dateyet, but it is going to
