Of course, as the report points out, as with any television series, there is no guarantee that the Uncle Fester spinoff will happen, but considering the massive success ofWednesday, it makes sense thatNetflixwill want to build a new franchise off the back of the hit show.

The Uncle Fester series is said to be in very early development at this stage, with the writers still needing to “figure out the story, the company needs to negotiate contracts with talent, and the schedules of the individuals must align.” But, it is likely that the show is high on the priority list for Netflix, who are now “eager to establish a pipeline of Addams Family programs to build off the success ofWednesday,” according to the report.

Wednesday

Ortega will return as Wednesday Addams in season two, with the actress recently teasing that the show will lean far more into horror and less into romance the second time around.

“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more. Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously.”

The first season ofWednesdayis available to stream on Netflix, and it sounds like there is a lot more to come from this iteration of the beloved creepy, kooky family.
