Everyone seems to be checking outWednesday, the newest take onThe Addams Familythat is now streaming on Netflix. After just two weeks time, the series has been skyrocketing its way up the most-watched titles list on Netflix. It now sits as the third most-watched English-language series on the streaming platform, behind onlyStranger Things 4andMonster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. But with two more weeks left to go,Wednesdaycould very well end up surpassing both of those shows as well to reach the No. 1 spot if these numbers continue to climb as high as they have been since the November premiere.
PerVariety,Wednesdayhas specifically garnered 752.5 hours viewed since premiering. By the end of the first month forStranger Things 4andDahmer, the former was at 1.35 billion hours viewed with the latter hitting 856.2 million. That followsWednesdayfirmly holding the No. 1 position on the Netflix Top 10 for two weeks. After The Cramps' song “Goo Goo Muck” was featured on the show for a highly memorable dance sequence, the song saw an increase in streaming compared to two weeks prior by the tune of 9,500%.

High viewership is one thing, but how do viewers feel? For the most part, people seem to be pretty happy with the show. Its score on the Tomatometer at Rotten Tomatoes is fresh with a respectiable 71% rating, though its audience score is significantly higher at 87%, suggesting most Netflix users are enjoying it. There has also been a popular fan campaign of viewers encouraging Netflix to go ahead and renew the series.

Renewing Wednesday Is a No-Brainer, But It Hasn’t Happened Yet
This is all very good news forWednesday, but the future of the series is still not guaranteed. Netflix has yet to announce that the series has been renewed, leading some fans to fear that it could be canceled. Given the immensely high viewership, coupled with the series getting on track to potentially become Netflix’s most-watched English-language show, it seems like the obvious choice to giveWednesdaya renewal. Perhaps those negotiations are actively happening behind the scenes and an announcement could be made soon one way or the other.
Wednesdaystars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, now attending Nevermore Academy where she uses her special abilities to uncover a years-old mystery involving her family. Miles Millar and Alfred Gough created the series while Tim Burton executive produced and directed four of the show’s eight episodes. For Burton, the series has brought him hishighest audience scores in 20 years.
