Straight fromHall Hof the San Diego Convention Center, AMC revealed the firstSeason 6trailer forThe Walking Dead, while announcing that the new season will premiere Sunday, October 11 during the show’s annualComic-Conpanel. As you may recall, at the end ofSeason 5, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) was finally reunited with Morgan (Lennie James), just as he killed Reg (Steve Coulter), the husband of Alexandria leader Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh). The trailer revealed that there is a growing group in Alexandria who are concerned about Rick’s methods, and the cast and crew shed new light on this season as well during the panel.

Gimple teased that Rick is tested by a group of Alexandrians about the way he conducts himself, although he teased that theWalking Dead Season 6 trailermay not be entirely accurate.
“We sometimes play with the truth in trailers. Rick is faced with challenges to the way he does things.”
At the end ofThe Walking Dead Season 5, fans saw the nefarious group know as The Wolves, teasing that they may play a big role this season. Scott M. Gimple wouldn’t offer specifics, but said they fit into the story in ways you won’t expect.
“The Wolves will be part of season six, hopefully in a way you don’t expect.”
Last season, upon finding a home in Alexandria, many were surprised whenAndrew Lincoln’s Rick shaved his beard off. The actor revealed that he “misses” it, and hopes to grow it back as soon as he can, while Scott M. Gimple added that the beard is, “a metric of where Rick is at… the beard will continue to be a barometer” of his mental health. The actor added that this season will deal with themes about the group both inside and outside of the Alexandria walls, while Scott M. Gimple said there will be plenty of flashbacks this season, with a whole episode entirely devoted to flashbacks.Lennie Jamesalso added that his quest to find Rick may have been in vain, and that fans may find out what he has been up to the entire time since we saw him last. He added that there is some “man-love” between Rick and Morgan, due to their history, but that “there will be a fallout.”
It was also announced at the panel thatMerritt Weverhas been cast as a character from theWalking Dead comics, but they wouldn’t reveal her identity quite yet.
