Peacockis gearing up for the long-awaited release ofTwisted MetalSeason 2 next month and has shared an exclusive clip online to give fans a teaser of the twisted tournament they’ve all been waiting for. The video is packed with cars, chaos, and carnage, asAnthony Mackie’s John Doe revs up to head back out on the road for a deadly demolition derby — which is arguably the best part of PlayStation’s vehicular combat video game that the high-octane action-comedy series is based on, and will be a central focus of the show’s second season.
The video (shared below) thrusts audiences into the highly anticipatedTwisted Metaltournament hosted by the mysterious Calypso. Much like the video game, the smash-and-bash contest features an eclectic mix of ragtag racers in modified vehicles who head out on the road, only to leave a trail of destruction in their rearview mirror, as each competitor has a variety of weapons at their disposal, ranging from missiles to landmines and other ballistic projectiles, to use against their opponents. The winner of the derby will receive the fulfillment of their darkest wishes, but, according to the official synopsis below, there might be some bumps in the road along the way that lead certain drivers to take their eyes off the prize.
