Principal photography has concluded on the highly-anticipated newTwin Peaksfor Showtime. And today, Showtime,David LynchandMark Frostare revealing a key piece of the mystery: the official cast of the series. Written and produced by series creators and executive producersDavid LynchandMark Frost, the newTwin Peaksis directed entirely byDavid Lynch, and will premiere on Showtime in 2017, on-air, on demand and over the internet.
One of the most influential andgroundbreaking television seriesof all time, the new Showtime series picks up twenty-five years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queenLaura Palmerwas shockingly murdered. The document provided byShowtimeincludes the 217 cast members appearing in the newTwin Peaks, including Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nomineeKyle MacLachlan, who returns as FBI Agent Dale Cooper. Those who have previously appeared in theTwin Peaksworld have been asterisked.
Among the returning cast members who have now been confirmed areMadchen Amick,Dana Ashbrook,David Duchovny,Sherilyn Fenn,Miguell Ferrer,Sheryl Lee,Peggy Lipton,Harry Dean Stanton,Russ Tamblyn,Ray WiseandAlicia Witt, just to name a few. Most of these actors had been rumored to return in some fashion both before and during production, which started way back in September. Several of the new cast members had been revealed in the past, such asAmanda SeyfriedandJennifer Jason Leigh, but this full cast list reveals many more stars who had not been previously announced.

Unfortunately, no details were given for roles they will be playing inTwin Peaks, but hopefully we’ll have more details soon. Showtime hasn’t announced an exact premiere date forTwin Peaksyet, but now that production has wrapped, hopefully we’ll find out when this show will debut.
Showtime originally announced thatTwin Peakswill return with a new nine-episode season, but it was later revealed that the season will be much longer.David Lynchdirected the entire season like one long movie, working from a script he wrote withMark Frost. The show will then be cut into episodes during post-production, but it isn’t known exactly how many episodes will be released throughout this new season.
