Finally, after waiting almost a decade, the show has now taken a major step forward, with a second season now well into production.
The series is titledThe Night Manager, and finds Hiddleston starring as Jonathan Pine, the night manager of a luxury hotel in Cairo and former British soldier. Taking pride in running the prestige hotel, Pine finds himself recruited by Angela Burr, the manager of a Foreign Office task force, and instructed to infiltrate the inner circle of arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie). Now, Pine finds himself attempting tonot only integrate himselfinto Roper’s inner circle by becoming a felon himself, but he also must keep his mission a secret from his hotel colleagues and girlfriend.

Fans of Netflix’s legal spy drama ‘The Recruit’ should look into John Le Carré’s ‘The Night Manager’ on Prime Video.
Released way back in the before times of 2016,The Night Manageris nowall set to return for Season 2, with the head of production at Ink Factory, the studio behind Season 1, Barry Ryan, revealing that the series will largely take place in Colombia, with some shooting having been completed in London. “More than 75% of the story is about Colombia,” he revealed to Variety.The Night ManagerSeason 2 will use the real-life peace process found since, and the “conflict and that young soldiers were involved” to “inform and shape the narrative” of the second season, Ryan added.

‘The Night Manager’ Season 3 Is Also Now in the Works
WhileThe Night ManagerSeason 1 was based on the 1993novel of the same name by John le Carré, Season 2 will go “completely off-book.” Discussing the long-awaited new series, returning writer David Farr assured fans that he “did not tread lightly into extending ‘The Night Manager’ beyond the original book, but an idea came to me a couple of years ago which felt truthful to that unique world of dark corners and shady identities.”
Both Tom HiddlestonandOlivia Colmanwill return as Jonathan Pine and Angela Burr, the Head of the Foreign Office’s International Enforcement Agency, respectively. The rest of the currently confirmed cast includes Diego Calva (Babylon, Narcos: Mexico) and Emmy-nominated actor Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones & The Six).

Though we have had to wait almost 10 years forThe Night ManagerSeason 2, we won’t be waiting anywhere near as long for Season 3, which is already in the works. The third series will shift away from Colombia, with Ryan teasing “Find out where I’m doing my next recce and you’ll know where it’s going to be set.” The thriller series was a big hit with both audiences and critics upon release, landing respective scores of 91% and 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.The Night ManagerSeason 2 does not yet have a release date but is expected to debut on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, andPrime Videoeverywhere else, later this year.
