Even though I’m not what you’d call aStar Warsfanatic, even I have been watching - and loving - Jon Favreau’s Disney+ seriesThe Mandalorianwith Pedro Pascal and Baby Yoda. In fact, I’m firmly planted in the camp that says the show should have just been calledBaby Yodato begin with as he really is the main reason we’re all still watching at this point.
Am I kidding? Only a little. And speaking of the world being utterly enchanted by the classic new infantStar Warscharacter, today series star Pedro Pascal has finally answered the much-anticipated question of just how he feels about being “ruthlessly outshined” by his little green co-star. Pascal took to Twitter to let us all know this.
“I’m cool w it.”
Now like many of the rest of you fellowThe Mandalorianfans out there, my response to Pascal’s tweet is ‘duh.’ I mean how can even Pascal be upset thatBaby Yodais now a thing that exists in this world? Exactly. That said, I wonder how the man feels about having his full performance (thus far) in the hit series taking place under a mask. That’s what I want to know. But I guess it won’t matter much soon as he will most likely end up taking said helmet off at some point during this first season, right? Maybe. And maybe not. I guess only time will tell.
Meanwhile,Pedro Pascalis not hurting for work by any means. After his breakout role as Oberyn Martell in HBO’sGame of Thrones, the actor has been lighting up the screen with roles such as Javier Peña on Netflix’sNarcos. Add to that he has also sported roles in big-screen movies such as Zhang Yimou’sThe Great Wallwith Matt Damon, Matthew Vaughn’sKingsman: The Golden Circlewith Taron Egerton, Antoine Fuqua’sThe Equalizer 2with Denzel Washington, and J. C. Chandor’sTriple Frontierwith Ben Affleck. And if all of that wasn’t enough, he can be seen next as Maxwell Lord in director Patty Jenkins' much-anticipated follow-up to her hitWonder WomanadaptationWonder Woman 1984with Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and Kristen Wiig.
And let’s not forget that only three ofThe Mandalorian’s first season’s eight episodes have aired so we still have quite a way to journey with Pascal and crew on that series. And if Pascal survives this first season, we already know that he will be returning in the already ordered second season.
And speaking of the future ofThe Mandalorian, up next isJurrassic World: Fallen Kingdomactress turned director Bryce Dallas Howard’s fourth chapter which is said to center on our hero teaming up with an ex-soldier to protect a village from raiders. And more than likely that ex-soldier will beGina Carano’s Cara Dune. But we’ll have to wait and see. And then after Howard’s episode comes the first of the series to not be penned by Favreau. Instead, pilot director Dave Filoni will be penning and directing this fifth entry which will see The Mandalorian help a rookie bounty hunter who is in over his head. Bring it on!
