Today we have word thatDeborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page fromDaredevilandSimone Missick’s Misty Knight fromLuke Cagewill also return inThe Defenders. This news comes just a few weeks after we learned who the main villain will be.
DuringNew York Comic Conearlier this month, all four ofThe Defenders,Charlie Cox(Daredevil),Krysten Ritter(Jessica Jones),Luke Cage(Mike Colter) andFinn Jones(Iron Fist) assembled for the fist time. The studio also confirmed thatSigourney Weaveris playing the main villain, although her character’s identity has not yet been confirmed.Marvelconfirmed the inclusion of Karen Page and Misty Knight through a brief video on the show’s official Twitter.
Before the NYCC announcement, there had been a report that claimed the main villain inThe Defenderswould beMephisto, but that was never confirmed. That rumor claimed this villain would help set up the next slate of superhero shows, such asBlade,Ghost RiderandMoon Knight, which have all been rumored as the next Marvel/Netflix series. The streaming service hasn’t confirmed that report yet, but this source claims thatIron Fistwill help introduce the “supernatural” element into the TV side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel and Netflix haven’t confirmed apremiere dateforThe Defendersyet, but this series has been confirmed to come before new seasons ofDaredevilandJessica Jones. AfterThe Defendersdebuts, which is expected to happen in late 2017, fans will be treated toDaredevilSeason 3,Jessica JonesSeason 2 andThe Punisherspin-off, which is currently in production. It hasn’t been confirmed ifThe Punisherwill be seen inThe Defendersor not.

In the comics, bothLuke CageandIron Fistformed a business known as Heroes for Hire, with the help of lawyer Jeryn Hogarth, played byCarrie-Anne MossonJessica Jones, where they charged a fee to citizens for their superhero services.
