The John Wick Shared Universe is Ready to Begin

With audiences now all set to check-in toThe Continental, theJohn Wickshared universe is now ready to begin. Following the conclusion ofJohn Wick: Chapter 4, which could end up being the last time we see the character in his own series of movies, the franchise will continue with all manner of spinoffs. First up isBallerina, which will findNo Time to DieandKnives OutstarAna de Armas leading the way as Rooney, a ballerina and trained assassin who seeks revenge by hunting the murderers of her family. Directed by Len Wiseman from a screenplay by Shay Hatten and Emerald Fennell, and based on a story by Hatten,Ballerinais expected to be the first spark that sets the John Wick shared universe alight.

“I think this movie is just opening up more and more avenues of this world. There’s all these little pockets of different crime families, and different corners of the world that John might never have a reason to go visit in his mainline story quest,”explainedBallerinawriter Shay Hatten. “But ‘Ballerina,’ through the lens of the ballet theatre that we see John visit in the third movie, explores a character who’s come up through that, and then gets sent on a journey to a new pocket of the Wick world that I think is a concept that we haven’t seen in any of the four previous movies. I think it really just shows this limitless potential for expanding and exploring the grey areas of this world.”

Ballerinais scheduled to be released on June 01, 2025. Other projects set in the world ofJohn Wick, including one centered onJohn Wick: Chapter 4character Nobody, and another followingCaine and Akira played by Donnie Yenand Rina Sawayama, respectively, are now reportedly being considered.
