We all knowTwilightandRemeber Meactor Robert Pattinson will be taking on the role of Bruce Wayne / Batman inDawn of the Planet of the ApesandCloverfielddirector Matt Reeves’The Batman. Now we can all start wondering who will be taking on the previously announced role of Catwoman.

And that’s just what we’re going to be doing here today, as this morning we got word that the powers that be behind the scenes of this newBatmanmovie are looking to castKick-AssandLet Me InactressChloe Moretzas Selina Kyle.

Parks and Recreationand recentChild’s Playremake starAubrey Plaza recently threw her metaphorical hat into the ringfor the role, going to “audition” as Catwoman over on Stephen Colbert. But considering that Reeves' upcoming take on The Dark Knight is said to be set in the very early years of the Caped Crusader’s life, I think a Catwoman who is younger than Robert Pattinson would be the safer bet. Sure Plaza is only a year older than Pattinson, but the same rules apply. I guess we’ll see soon enough.

I don’t know about you, but I think Chloë Grace Moretz is basically a shoo-in for the role. After all, the actress more than showed she has the physical prowess to play the role way back when she was just a fricking kid in her role asMindy Macready / Hit-Girlin director Matthew Vaughn’sKick-Ass. Not to mention all the parts the actress has under her belt since then including Tim Burton’sDark Shadowswith Johnny Depp, that remake of Stephen King’sCarrie, and Antoine Fuqua’sThe Equalizerwith Denzel Washington.

Plus she was in Nicholas Stoller’sNeighbors 2: Sorority Risingwith Seth Rogen and Zac Efron. I’m not exactly sure what it is about her role inNeighbors 2that qualifies her for the role of Catwoman, but whatever. Oh, and let’s not forget, she also starred in Reeves' own vampire coming-of-age taleLet Me In.

As far as other villains and actors attached to Matt Reeves’The Batmangoes,Frozen IIandBeauty and the BeaststarJosh Gad said earlier this week that he’s not playing the Penguin. But other names that have been teased for this new take on Batman includeGuardians of the Galaxy Vol 2andAvengers: Infinity Warstar Dave Bautista as Bane, andThe Best Exotic Marigold HotelandDownton Abbeystar Dame Maggie Smith as Alfred. And my personal favortie,Home AloneandThe Good Sonstar Macaulay Culkin as the Clown Prince of Crime himself, The Joker.

However all this casting eventually breaks down, we do know that in the end,War for the Planet of the Apesdirector Matt Reeves will be taking the helm ofThe Batmanfrom a screenplay he wrote himself based on the classic DC character created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane. Hopefully, we’ll start hearing some more concrete casting updates soon asThe Batmanarrives in theaters on June 25th, 2021. This casting rumor comes to usvia We Got This Covered.
