It’s been a long time since the world heard from Mick Taylor, the Australian serial killer at the heart of one of the most brutalhorrorfranchises ever made:Wolf Creek. All that is about to change thanks to Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting, though,as the duo are set to revive the series with a new sequel in 2026 titledWolf Creek: Legacy.

First announced last year,Varietyis reporting that the same team behindTerrifier 2and3have acquired the distribution rights toWolf Creek: Legacy,and will release it to theaters in the fall of 2026. John Jarratt will return to reprise the role of Taylor, and director Greg McLean is taking on a behind-the-scenes role as a producer this time around, with Sean Lahiff running point as director. In a statement released by Lahiff, the newly minted director said the latest entry in the franchise “will be a raw and gritty chase across the outback,” adding:

‘Wolf Creek’ Isn’t the Only Horror Franchise Being Revived by Cineverse

In addition to bringingWolf Creek: Legacyto theaters in 2026, Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting are also in cahoots to relaunch the Christmas slasher franchiseSilent Night, Deadly Night. A new entry in the long-running saga is set to hit theatersjust in time for the 2025 holiday season, and promises to be a blend of “psychological horror, brutal slasher thrills and a touch of the supernatural.”

The two companies are no stranger to horror hits thanks to their collaboration on releasingTerrifier 2, and last year’sTerrifier 3, which went on to earn more than $89 million at the box office against its measly budget of just $2 million dollars. When it comes toWolf Creek, Cineverse president Erick Opeka hails it as “one of the greatest slasher movies of all time,” while Brad Miska, VP of Bloody Disgusting for Cineverse, compares it to the likes of another horror classic:
