A new trailer has been released forTed K, Super LTD’s upcoming thriller inspired by the horrifyingreal-life crimesof the Unabomber. Directed by Tony Stone, Ted K stars Sharlto Copley as Ted Kaczynski, the man identified as the notorious criminal. The film also stars Drew Powell, Amber Rose Mason, Travis Bruyer, Megan Folsom, Andrew Senn, and Keith Barber. You can watch the trailer below.

Sharlto Copley is an accomplished actor and it’s clear from theTed Ktrailer he’ll be doing a phenomenal job as the Unabomber. He is also known for playingthe titular character inChappie; Wikus van der Merwe inDistrict 9; Howling Mad Murdock in the movie reboot ofThe A-Team; Agent C. M. Kruger inElysium; James Corrigan inEuropa Report; and King Stefan inMaleficent. The actor also starred in the TV seriesPowers.

The Unabomber’s Story Has Inspired Other Adaptations
The true story of the Unabomber has been told in various mediums and different actors have played Kaczynski in many projects. Saw franchise star Tobin Bell played Ted in the television movieUnabomber: The True Storywhich aired on USA Network in 1996.WandaVisionstar Paul Bettany later played a different incarnation of him in the Discovery Channel miniseriesManhunt: Unabomberin 2017. The R-ratedTed Klooks to be the darkest take on the story yet, in part because it follows the path of events from Kaczynski’s point of view.
Classified as a domestic terrorist, Ted Kaczynski is confirmed to have killed at least three people while injuring 23 others with a series of bombings between 1978 and 1995. One reason he had gone unidentified for years, known only as the Unabomber, was because he had been living as a total recluse in a remote cabin with no electricity or running water. He was ultimately caught in 1996 and sentenced to serve eight life sentences in prison without the possibility of parole.
Currently, Kaczynski is serving his time behind bars where he’s been for more than two decades. Keeping his penchant for writing, the former Unabomber is said to regularly write thousands of letters to pen pals on the outside, a big difference from the extremely private life he was living before. The cell he sleeps in really is not much smaller than the cabin he lived in as a recluse, and he has apparently adapted fairly well to life behind bars.
