DuringSupergirl’s first season on CBS, the series brought on a former TV Superman,Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of SupermanstarDean Cain, and a former big-screen Kara Zor-ElHelen Slater, to play the foster parents of the new Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist). Today we have word thatSupergirlis bringing in the other major star fromLois & Clark, actressTeri Hatcher, for an unspecified villain role on the series.Teri Hatcherwill have a multi-episode arc, although it isn’t clear how many episodes she’ll appear in, or when she’ll make her debut on the hit CW series.

The Hollywood Reporterbroke the casting news earlier today, although it remains unclear when The CW will reveal who she’s playing. Executive producerAndrew Kreisbergrevealed in a statement that he is thrilled to bring the actress on board, although he wouldn’t reveal anything else about her character. “No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, butTeri Hatcheris my all-time favorite Lois Lane. To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, (executive producer)Greg Berlanti, and the fans.”

This isn’t the first timeTeri Hatcherhas returned to the DC Comics world sinceLois & Clark: The New Adventures of Supermanwent off the air. In the final season of The CW’sSmallville, the actress signed on to play Ella Lane, the mother ofLois Lane(Erica Durance). Of course, this will be her first time playing a villain in this DC Comics world, so hopefully we’ll get more details about who she’s playing soon.Teri Hatchercurrently has a recurring role on CBS’The Odd Couple, and she is also filmingMadness in the Method, which is directed byJason Mewes

Her iconic character Lois Lane has not been seen onSupergirlyet, but she has been mentioned several times, and her sister Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) and father Sam Lane (Glenn Morshower) have been featured on the show.Tyler Hoechlinhas come aboard to play Kara Zor-El’s now-famous cousin, Superman. It was mentioned in theSupergirlSeason 2 premiere that Superman/Clark Kent is still dating Lois Lane. Fans will also have theSupergirlmusical crossover withThe Flashto look forward to, with The CW recently announcing that this two-part crossover will begin Monday, March 20 with theSupergirlepisode and continue Tuesday, March 21 withThe Flashepisode. The crossover will only be introduced during the very end of theSupergirlepisode, with most of the crossover happening duringThe Flashepisode.
