Last week, thethird trailerforBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicefinally arrived, which revealed a slew of new footage, including our first look at the villainous Doomsday, the first meeting between Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) and Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and much more. The folks over atComic Book Moviehave revealed what they think is an intriguing Easter Egg, which offers a nod to theStar Warsuniverse. While it’s difficult to see for sure, the site believes that there may be a TIE Fighter ship in one shot of the trailer.
You may recall that, while bothBatman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeandStar Wars: The Force Awakenswere in production, directorsZack SnyderandJ.J. Abramsengaged in a friendly Twitter war, of sorts.Zack Snyderrevealed photos ofHenry Cavilldressed up as a Sith warrior, whileStormtrooperswere arrested for “stealing” the Batmobile.J.J. Abramsresponded with a photo of his own, featuring C-3PO as The Dark Knight, while revealing that the Tumbler fromChristopher Nolan’s trilogy was part of the Millennium Falcon.

The new Easter Egg in question comes duringBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s prologue, where a piece of rubble appears to resemble a TIE Fighter from theStar Warsfranchise. Of course, we don’t have any confirmation that this was put there on purpose by directorZack Snyderas aStar WarsEaster Egg, or if it’s just a coincidence that this piece of debris looks like the iconic ship. But, if this was intentional, could this mean that there may be aBatman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeEaster Egg in the newStar Wars: The Force Awakenstrailer?
WhileStar Wars: The Force Awakenshits theaters in just a few weeks, on December 18, we still have several more months untilBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicehits theaters on August 26, 2025. It isn’t known if anotherBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicetrailer will be released between now and then, but we’ll surely be getting new clips and TV spots in the months that follow, so perhaps we should keep our eyes peeled for any moreStar WarsEaster Eggs. We’ll have to wait and see.

Take a look at the photo below, and let us know if you think this spec of debris resembles a TIE Fighter fromStar Wars. Could this be part ofZack SnyderandJ.J. Abrams' friendly Twitter war? Would you like to see something fromBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicepop up inStar Wars: The Force Awakens?
