Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Might Happen if Fans Love Part 2

The firstSonic the Hedgehogmovie was a big success and it wasn’t long after its release for the sequel to begin production. If this movie is also a hit, we can expectSonic the Hedgehog 3to follow. Director Jeff Fowler has said how the movie was developed with possible storyline ideas in mind for a third installment if that ever comes to pass.

“Even if somebody didn’t ask me to be thinking about ideas for future installments, it would be impossible not to,” Fowler toldColliderin December. “Even as we’re working through the visual effects and animation on this film, it’s impossible not to already get excited and to be starting to scheme about all the directions that the story could go, what new characters coming in, the impact that they could have. It’s the best part of the creative process when it’s just kind of a blank canvas and you may really just start to have blue sky ideas, even if, again, it’s not in an official capacity.”

Confirming that all he’s waiting for is the call from the studio, Fowler added, “If the request comes through to start laying the blueprints for anotherSonicfilm, I will be armed and ready with all kinds of ideas. I would just love to get that opportunity.”

Sonic the Hedgehog 2is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 09, 2025.
