To help promote this release before it hits theaters, star and co-writerSeth Rogendecided to take some animatronic food items to a grocery store in New York City, and see how fans would react. The result is one of the most hilarious viral marketing pranks in recent history.
The video debuted on Sony Pictures’YouTubechannel earlier today, which showsSeth Rogentesting out an animatronic cantaloupe for this prank, which he uses to show New Yorker’s that food has feelings too. The actor used this cantaloupe, along with a loaf of bread and a sausage, to scare the lights out of unsuspecting shoppers.Seth Rogen’s food items chat with a number of colorful New Yorkers, some of whom actually eat these items' “relatives” right in front of them.
Sausage Party, the first R-rated CG animated movie, is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store.
