The unconfirmed report also claims thatScoot McNairyis playing Daily Planet photographer Jimmy Olsen, which has been rumored in the past. However, last month, another report claimed that he’s playing an unnamed wheelchair-bound character who is brought in to testify againstSupermanat the U.S. Senate hearing we have seen in the trailers. In fact, this report claims that this character can actually be spotted in the trailers, in shots by the memorial for the Battle of Metropolis, and whenSupermanshows up to the Senate hearing. This report also claims that he becomes a victim of Lex Luthor’s (Jesse Eisenberg) campaign against theMan of Steel, with the villain turning this crippled man into a “human bomb,” in an attempt by Luthor to get this man close toSupermanand hurt him.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this report is the claim thatThe Jokerwill have a brief appearance during a flashback scene. While it isn’t specified, it’s believed thatSuicide SquadstarJared Letowill reprise his role as the iconic villain. You may recall in one of the earlierBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicetrailers, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) is seen looking at his former sidekick Robin’s costume, which appears to have a hand-written message on it from The Joker. There has long been speculation that we may see The Joker actually kill Robin in a flashback, but the studio has never confirmed these details.
