Unfortunately, real legal proceedings aren’t as dramatic as an episode ofSuits, andSuperman’s release lawsuit has been dragging onfor months. The suit was opened in January of this year. Shuster’s estate attempted to blockSuperman’s release in the above territories, claiming that Warner Bros. and DC Studios lack the foreign rights to the comic book IP.

In May, the Shuster estate refiled its suit in New York. Having refiled just less than two months fromSuperman’s release, things were looking dicey for the Man of Steel’s big screen debut. The second suit claimed that Warner Bros. andDC Studios were “exploiting Superman"through their film and television releases.
