Production is slated to begin in South Africa later this week on Resident Evil 6, and we’ll be sure to get an official update fromMilla Jovovichthrough her social media channels, as soon as principal photography is under way. Production was actually slated to begin last summer, but filming wasdelayeddue toMilla Jovovich’s pregnancy.Milla Jovovich, of course, is reprising her role as Alice, which she has played since the franchise’s first entry, 2002’sResident Evil.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapteralso brings a number of franchise favorites back for this last installment.Wentworth Milleris expected to reprise his role as Chris Redfield fromResident Evil: Afterlife, alongsideBingbing Lias Ada Wong,Sienna Guillory(Jill Valentine),Spencer Locke(K-Mart),Shawn Roberts(Albert Wesker), andJohann Urb(Leon Kennedy) all set to return. Last month, we reported thatAli Larterwill return to portrayClaire Redfield, a role she played in 2007’sResident Evil: Extinctionand 2010’sResident Evil: Afterlife.
Paul W.S. Andersonis directing from his own script, but no plot details have been given quite yet. While production was under way on the franchise’s last installment,Resident Evil: Retribution,Milla Jovovichposted countless photos and videos from the set, and we expect her to do the same when principal photography gets under way here. Hopefully, she’ll also share the first story details as well, but we’ll have to wait and see.
