Sylvester Stallone’s John Rambo is one of the most iconic characters in cinematic history. Now, a new mashup trailer has broughtRamboup against his most terrifying opponent yet, who just happens to beGodzilla. Over the weekend, Stallone was magically transported into the role of the T-800 inTerminator 2: Judgment Daywith the use of the DeepFake technology and the actor really enjoyed the results. Stallone has yet to comment on his latest mashup, but one can only assume he’ll love this one too.
TheRamboandGodzillamashup trailer is made up from a ton of footage from different movies and it fits together rather seamlessly. There’s scenes from the upcomingRambo 5: Last Blood, which has been given aHome Alonemashup too, paired with a lot of footage from the recently releasedGodzilla: King of the Monsters. The Expendables,King Kong, dialogue from the firstCreedmovie, and others are brought in to give us a trailer for a fake movie that should actually be made.
Godzilla: King of the Monstershit theaters a few weeks ago and has been struggling at the domestic box office. So far, the sequel has only been able to scare up a little over $78 million in North America. With that being said,Godzillaand friends have been tearing it up overseas with over $213 million in only two weeks. With a budget of $100 million, which doesn’t include advertising, the project needs all the help it can get at this time. Maybe a pairing with John Rambo would help get some more people in the theaters to check out the epic brawl.
Rambo: Last Bloodis currently in the post-production phase. Sylvester Stallone recently shared the first trailer for the long-awaited sequel and it has been getting positive reactions from fans, even though it makes the action thriller look an awful lot likeHome Aloneon steroids. The movie is all set to hit theaters this fall and Stallone is hoping some of his box office success from theCreedfranchise will rub off on the latest adventure from John Rambo and it more than likely will because of how big the franchise is on its own.
Sylvester Stallonehas teasedRambo 5: Last Bloodmight be the last time we ever see him on the big screen as John Rambo. He has said the same thing about Rocky Balboa, but there are already rumblings of another movie on the horizon, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Stallone could just be using his statements as a way to get people into theaters. As forGodzilla, he’s going to be taking on a new foe in Universal’s next MonsterVerse installment,Godzilla vs. Kong.
