Parks and Recreationwas best known for its fast, wacky humor and lovable characters, as audiences spent seven seasons with the employees of the Pawnee local government’s Parks and Rec department. The series featured the usual hallmarks of a hit sitcom, including some gigantic guest stars. But, unlike more self-aware shows likeCommunity,Parks & Recrarely went meta. ButAmy Poehler, who led the series as the overly optimistic Leslie Knope, recently revealed that the cast ofParks & Recfilmed an entire other TV show while working on the hit NBC sitcom, and the first trailer has just dropped online.
As a result of working on a movie/TV set for months, actors tend to make their own fun. But, very rarely do they produce an entirely new TV series.Philly Justiceis the name of the fake show that Poehler, Adam Scott, Rashida Jones, and Kathryn Hahn created during an impromptu photoshoot on set. “We pretended we were on a fake TV show in the ’90s calledPhilly Justice– or the early 2000s – and we all crossed our arms,” Amy Poehler revealed during a past episode of her Good Hang podcast, starring Kathryn Hahn as the guest.

Poehler and Hahn reflected on the fake series, which they shot during filming breaks on Season 4. Up until now,Philly Justicewas nothing but a rumor among the hardcoreParks & Recfan base. But thanks to Poehler and Hahn, we now have tangible proof that the show exists. On the most recent episode of the podcast, which featuredParks & Rec’s creator, Mike Schur, as the guest, the pair finally debuted the trailer forPhilly Justice… and it’s glorious. Will ‘Parks & Rec’ Ever Get a Reboot/Revival?
Like every popular show of yesteryear, someParks & Recfans are calling for the hit series to be revived, bringing back the original cast for another crazy year in local government. After all, ifThe Officecan get a million different remakes, why can’t its unofficial sequel series get the same treatment? Setting aside the moral dilemma of whether the series should be revived/rebooted, it has actually already happened.
During the height of the COVID pandemic, the coreParks & Reccast, which also included Chris Pratt, Rob Lowe, Retta, Aziz Ansari, and Aubrey Plaza, reunited for a COVID special. The episode took place on Zoom and recounted the lives of the characters after the show’s finale and during the pandemic.

But, with the trailer forPhilly Justicehaving just been unleashed on the world, fans are now desperate for the entire series to be released. At the time of writing, there are no plans forPhilly Justiceto actually be released as a series. Hopefully, someone at NBC or one of the show’s cast will be kind enough to release the series online.
