This fall, theParanormal Activityfranchise will come to an end withParanormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension.USA Todayhas revealed the first four photos from thishorror moviesequel, arriving in theaters October 23. The movie was originally slated to hit theaters this March, before Paramount shifted the release closer to Halloween. ProducerJason Blumconfirms that this will be the popular franchise’s finale installment. Here’s what he had to say below, revealing the filmmakers didn’t want to run the franchise into the ground.
“It’s coming to an end. This is it, the finale. We’re saying it before the movie opens. We’re not going to grind thishorror franchiseinto the ground. This will keepParanormal Activityas part of this culture and this particular time in a really fantastic way.”

The popular film series kicked off with the 2009 thrillerParanormal Activity, which cost just $15,000 to make and took in $193 million worldwide.Paranormal Activity 2(2010),Paranormal Activity 3(2011),Paranormal Activity 4(2012) and the spinoffParanormal Activity: The Marked Ones(2014).Jason Blumreveals thatParanormal Activity 5will answer questions that fans have been clamoring for, such as the family’s backstory and whatTobylooks like.
“We couldn’t go just teasing. All the questions that everyone has asked from the past Paranormal Activity films: What does Toby look like? What’s the backstory to the families? These questions have been teased out. Now they will be answered.”

Oren Peli, who directed the firstParanormal Activityand has served as a producer on the sequels, said that it is the right time to reveal Toby.
“We’ve done well without showing Toby, being able to create tensions and scares based on audiences' imagination. But people are very curious.”

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimensioncenters on a new family, the Fleeges, father Ryan (Chris J. Murray), mother Emily (Brit Shaw) and their young daughter Leila (Ivy George) - who move into a house and discover a video camera and a box of tapes in the garage. Every time they look through the lens of the camera, they see paranormal activity all around them, along with the reappearance of siblings Kristi and Katie.Katie Featherstonwill return as Katie, the only character to appear in each film. The video camera footage is presented onscreen in 3-D, a first for the franchise. While this is certainly the last movie,Jason Blumteased that a reboot could happen in the future.
“At some point, might there be a reboot? You never know. We’ve never discussed it. (But) we made this movie like it’s the end of this Paranormal line for sure.”

With the first photos debuting, the trailer should be right around the corner, as we get ready for the October 23 release.
