AMC announced today that the network will premiere a special event mini-series Making of the Mob: New York, chronicling the historical roots of the original Five Families that led to the formation of the modern American Mafia. The docu-drama is being produced by Emmy Award-winning Stephen David Entertainment (“The World Wars,” “The Men Who Built America”) and will consist of eight, one-hour episodes premiering in second quarter 2015. Utilizing an immersive blend of dramatic scenes, archival footage and groundbreaking VFX, Making of the Mob: New York will begin in 1905 and span over 50 years to trace the rise of Charles “Lucky” Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel and other notorious gangsters from their beginnings as a neighborhood gang of teenagers to murderous entrepreneurs and bootleggers who organized the criminal underworld and turned it into an American institution....

Several details regarding AMC’s upcoming remake of Anne Rice’sInterview with the Vampirehave reportedly leaked and tease some big changes for the new adaptation. The project, which will tell the story on the small screen in a serial format, will follow journalist Daniel Malloy, whose career has suffered many ups and downs, and is given a second chance to interview a vampire named Louis de Pointe du Lac.
