Anyone who’s wanted to own Dorothy Gale’s iconic blue and white gingham dress, initially worn byJudy Garlandin the classic 1939Wizard of Ozmovie, now has a chance to be able to. From April 23 to 29, the address will be available for viewings at Bonhams New York. Afterward, it will be moved to Los Angeles to be auctioned off. Bonhams has described the dress as follows: “a blue-and-white gingham pinafore dress with a fitted bodice and a full skirt, with ‘handkerchief pocket,’ two mother-of-pearl buttons to the front and two to the reverse, with a hook-and-eye closure at the back, with fabric label inside inscribed ‘JUDY GARLAND 4223,’ with a short-sleeved blouse of cream organdy with a high neck, trimmed at the neck and cuffs with pale blue rickrack trim, the blouse with hook-and-eye closure to the neck and snap closure to the body....

The National Film Registry has announced the 25 movies that have been selected for preservation in the Library of Congress for 2018. These movies have been deemed culturally, historically or aesthetically important, and will now be preserved for years to come. The titles this year are wide-ranging and include movies such asJurassic Park,The Shiningand titles dating back to the early 1900s. One thing I always look forward to when going to anyhorror movie, is seeing…. well, mostly hearing, how the audience reacts. While I love movies likeThe Witch, which is so engrossing and intense that you can hear a pin drop in the theater, I really adore movies that scare the s–t out of people, to the point where I can hear their reactions. For me, the more unusual and natural the reactions are a sign that this particular movie is quite effective, and the reactions I heard duringLights Outmade it so much more fun, for me anyway....

TheLuther movieis officially happening at Netflix. On Monday, the streamer announced thatLutherwill be coming back for an all-new movie with Idris Elba reprising the iconic role. It seems somewhat ironic that Roland Emmerich’s disaster epicMoonfalllooks set to become an epic disaster as it failed to form a gravitational pull with early audiences.
