The Chinese-based Bona Film Group finalized the biggest deal to come out of the Cannes Film Festival, shelling out $80 million for a new World War II thrillerMidway, which hasRoland Emmerichset to direct. Bona Film Group has acquired worldwide film distribution rights for every market except the U.S., with CAA brokering the deal and representing the U.S. rights. It isn’t clear if there is a domestic distributor being lined up quite yet, but this project is said to be Roland Emmerich’s next film....

Back in November, CBS made the announcement that sci-fi fans had been waiting years for, revealing that the iconicStar Trekfranchise is returning to the small screen with a new TV series. Earlier today at the CBS Upfront presentation at Carnegie Hall in New York, CBS unveiled the logo for the newStar Trekwithin the television series' first-ever promotional video. This highly-anticipated program will premiere inJanuary 2017. The newStar Trek TV series, produced by CBS Television Studios, will launch with a special preview broadcast on the CBS Television Network in January 2017....
