Of course, as Clarkson is the first winner of the singing competition series, the reunion will include her as well. The series will officially make its television debut on Sept. 9, so mark those calendars now.
American Idolfirst premiered on Fox all the way back in 2002. The concept of the singing competition series is to invite aspiring singers from all across the United States to showcase their skills in front of judges from the music business, with the most impressive singers moving on to the finals of the competition. Fan voting would then take over to determine which contestants would move on to the next round until there was only one singer left standing. Famously, Clarkson was the first winner of the show, obtaining the recording contract at the end of season one. While the success of subsequentIdolwinners has varied, Clarkson has done very well as a musician, selling millions of records and winning multiple Grammy Awards.

The Kelly Clarkson Showwill premiere on Sept. 9 on NBC.
