One of the greatest sci-fi movies ever made is finding new success on the streaming charts, 32 years after it was first released in theaters. There are some movies that change the course of cinema forever, and the film in question is undeniably one of them. Released in 1993, it is often lauded as one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever made. It also went on to inspire a generation of filmmakers and spawned several (progressively worse) sequels, as well as a reboot/revival franchise (which is also nothing to write home about). The movie won three Oscars the year after its release and is ranked as the 139th best movie of all time on IMDb. WithJurassic World: Rebirthcontinuing theJurassic Worldsequel franchise’s box office domination, expect many more sequels to be greenlit in the future. At the time of writing, the franchise’s future remains uncertain. Despite the new film’s box office run coming to a very strong end, Universal has yet to announce whether any of the surviving characters will return for another outing in the dinosaur-filled world.
