Back in April,Netflix announced Fuller House, a sequel to the classic sitcomFull House, will debut on the streaming service next year. OriginalFull HousestarsCandace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber andJohn Stamoswere set to reprise their roles from the original series, with Netflix revealing that they were in negotiations with the rest of the original cast. As it turns out,Mary-Kate OlsenandAshley Olsen, who collectively played the young Michelle on the original series, will not be coming back forFuller House. Here’s what executive producer Robert L. Boyett had to say in a statement.

“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how muchFull Househas meant to them and they are still very much considered family. It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towardsFuller House.”

The series will focus onCandace Cameron Bure’s D.J., who was recently widowed and living alone with her children in San Francisco, with another child on the way. D.J.’s sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and her best friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber) move in to help D.J. take care of her two boys.John Stamosis also producing and returning as Uncle Jesse, along withDave Coulieras Uncle Joey, with talks under way to bringBob SagetandLori Loughlinback as well.

Mary-Kate OlsenandAshley Olsenhaven’t acted for several years, withMary-Kate Olsenlast appearing in 2011’sBeastlyandAshley Olsenlast featured in an uncredited role in 2010’sI’m Still Here.
