There’s anotherStan Leedocumentary on the horizon, but it needs help to see the light of day, and what it promises to show could be industry-shaking.The Marvel creative leaderled a long and fulfilling life, yet one of his assistants in his later years, Jon Bolerjack, is trying to show the world just how dark it got towards Lee’s final days. Comicbook has released a trailer for Bolerjack’s potential upcoming documentary,Stan Lee: The Final Chapter, and the footage already shows how those around the comic titan allegedly used the man for profit, seemingly as much as they could.

The trailer paints a sickening picture of an elderly man being wheeled from convention to convention, photo op to photo op, and rooms full of countless Marvel merch to sign. While it’s unclear just how willing and able to participate in these activities Lee was, the videos show a tired man with seemingly no agency to put an end to the hours of work that brought in lots of money, which was allegedly used to stuff the pockets of those around the aging superstar.

Stories of Lee being the victim of elder abuse were already public knowledge during the latter stages of his life, with Lee even filing a restraining order against his former business partner, Keya Morgan, who was later arrested on elder abuse charges. Bolerjack has countless hours of footage from behind the scenes of Lee’s last years, yet the film still needs to raise funds to help complete the documentary. The film’s recently launchedKickstarteraims to raise $300,000 so that the finished film can be released “before the end of the year.”

This Forgotten ’70s Marvel Flop Is One of Stan Lee’s Favorites

One Marvel live-action movie from the ’70s flopped badly and remains largely unkown today. However' Stan Lee loved it.

But Lee’s alleged behavior and potential wrong-doings aside, Bolerjack’s documentary aims to show the world how even the man at the top, the one that might’ve exploited others, fell victim to elder abuse in the last parts of his life. Every viewer has the right to decide whether they care to listen to his struggles. Still, the documentary seems to shed a much-needed light on elder abuse, especially in the hectic entertainment industry. Bolerjack promises to show audiences how anyone, including those on top, can be abused and exploited.
