Last week, 20th Century Fox unveiled the new red band trailer forDeadpool 2, chocked full of scenes with adult language, which is to be expected in this R-rated superhero adventure. The studio has now also released an all-ages green band trailer which cleans up the language, and removes a few scenes, including a particularly gruesome shot of theMerc With the Mouthgetting his hand shot through, but it has also added a new scene where he takes a swipe at millennials. While it’s certainly quite innocuous, it replaces a similarly tame scene from the first trailer.
Themillennial jabcomes towards the end of the trailer, where Deadpool delivers a speech about how “doing the right thing is messy” adding that sometimes you have to fight dirty, which supposedly ties into his final point, revealing, “and that is why the man-bun is just a millennial mullet.” While the scene leading up to this revelation is the same in both trailers, in the red band trailer, Deadpool’s final point was that, “The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pantsis pure pornography.” The original scene is also quite humorous since Ryan Reynolds is essentially trolling his own wife, Blake Lively, with this statement, since she starred inThe Sisterhood of the Travelling Pantswith Alexis Bleidel, Amber Tamblyn and America Ferrara.
This green band trailer also includes another new addition that wasn’t in thered-band Deadpool trailer, a rather succinct 30-second recap of the first movie, which ends withDeadpoolin full costume stating, “There, all caught up.” There are also a few other slight changes, including the omission of a line where cabbie Dopinder (Karan Soni) admits he may have s–t his pants, plus another scene towards the beginning of the red band trailer where DP slices off an enemy’s head with one of his swords, then kicks it off of his body. Also during the scene where Cable (Josh Brolin) first surfaces, Deadpool says, “What in the ass?” instead of, “What in the f–ksicle?” and a scene with “The Kid” (Julian Dennison) flashing both middle fingers at someone.
For whatever reason, they also omitted a line about Deadpool’s “super-duper group” which he describes them as being, “tough, morally flexible and young enough to carry their own franchise for 10 to 12 years,” instead describing them as “forward-thinking and gender neutral.” This green band trailer also omits a line from Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) who says it’s hard to hear Deadpool, “with that pity dick” in his mouth. The final change from the red band trailer to the green is, instead of Deadpool saying, “Let’s get our f–k on” before jumping out of the airplane, he offers a callback from the first movie, simply stating, “Cue the music.”

The studio was first slated to releaseThe New Mutantson April 13, followed byDeadpool 2on June 1 andX-Men: Dark Phoenixon November 2. Then in January, the studio pushedThe New Mutantsfrom April 13 to August 23, 2025, andDeadpoolfrom June 1 to May 18, and earlier today, the studio pushedThe New Mutantsto August 21, 2025 andDark Phoenixfrom August 04, 2025 to August 13, 2025.
