Game of ThronesHistory Lesson

If you’re aGame of Thronesfan desperately seeking something Westeros-related to pass the time beforeSeason 6arrives next spring, then you’ll certainly enjoyThe Film Theorists' comprehensive video about how the series almost never happened at all. Most die-hard fans know that series creatorsD.B. WeissandDavid Benioffwon the approval of authorGeorge R.R. Martinby revealing who they thoughtJon Snow’s mother was, but they certainly weren’t the first to try to adapt the series. This video has tons of interesting trivia bits about the development of the show, cameos from the writers and crew members, and why some scenes from the book were cut.

Straight Outta ComptonandPitch PerfectTrailer Mashup

The fine folks atCineMashhave taken the R-rated red band trailer for the NWA biopicStraight Outta Comptonand hilariously mashed it up with scenes from a much different musical movie,Pitch Perfect. A Pippi Longstocking Reboot Pitch StarringMilla Jovovich

The mad geniuses atFunny or Diehave another classic on their hands, with a new video featuringClint Howardpitching a Pippi Longstocking reboot starringMilla Jovovich. Earlier this week, Sony Pictures announced they are making anEmojimovie, based on the social networking and texting icons that have exploded in popularity. Since there is no actual narrative behind these weird little faces, the most obvious question is where will the story come from? During a recent episode ofJimmy Kimmel Live!,Jimmy Kimmelenlisted the help ofBrie Larsonto read scenes from the “script,” which is actually quite hilarious. Of course, this script isn’t real, but just their reading was hilarious, even though it would hardly hold up on the big screen for more than a few minutes. Still, there could be hope for theEmojimovie yet… maybe.

Ezequiel Lopezhas taken footage from the 1963 classicIt’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Worldand cut in audio from theMad Max: Fury Roadtrailer for a humorous mashup. Everything doesn’t match up exactly, but it’s still an entertaining video, especially since the movies share some similar landscapes, at times.
