Though the first season has yet to finish airing, multiple key members of the creative team behindMonarch: Legacy of Monstershave recently opened up about the possibility further adventures on Apple TV+.
While speaking withThe Direct,Monarch: Legacy of Monstersexecutive producer Matt Fraction gave an update, saying:

“Well, it wasn’t designed as a limited series. We certainly love the character and playing in the world. And if we are so lucky and so fortunate, I think we could keep going for as long as people want to keep watching, quite honestly. Yeah.”
Monarch: Legacy of Monstersshowrunner Chris Black added that “up to the viewers and the fans” whether the show returns for more.

“I mean, it’s kind of really up to the viewers and the fans. We hope that they respond to the story that, what we’re telling, [and] that they’ll want to see more. We had to sort of build this from the ground up as a TV series, as something that was going to go for 10 hours and hopefully, if we’re lucky, two seasons, three seasons – whatever we’re lucky enough to get.”

Director Matt Shakman Noted That the Creative Team’s Pride in Their Work on Season 1 of the Apple TV+ Series
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Monarch: Legacy of Monstersdirector Matt Shakman, who directed the first two episodes of season one, just hopes that audiences love what’s been achieved.
“We poured our heart and soul into this season. We love it. We’re so proud of it. We hope people love it. If I could knock on some wood, I would hate to talk about future seasons until people have a chance to watch this one. And hopefully, they love it.”

Tory Tunnell, anotherMonarch: Legacy of Monstersexecutive producer, expressed similar thoughts, saying:
“We love the story that we told this season. And we hope that people will show up. And you know, if they do in droves, and then hopefully, it’ll give us an opportunity to tell more.”
Previously, during anexclusive chat with MovieWebto talk aboutMonarch: Legacy of Monsters, Tunnell declared what an exciting opportunity it is to bring a Godzilla story to life on screen.
“I think that Godzilla is one of those characters that, as a kid, you never really remember meeting or being introduced to. He’s always been like Santa Claus. He’s just part of the world in the culture. And I think that’s what’s been so exciting for us to be able to step into that ring and work with Godzilla, because he’s someone that continues to be a reflection of society, and that keeps on changing. And so I think he’s always been a dynamic kaiju to contend with, because I think he is so representative of the human condition.”
While the events ofMonarch: Legacy of Monstersare technically limited due to the show’s placement in the franchise, the creative team behind the Apple TV+ clearly have more ideas they could explore in a second season. Episode four ofMonarch: Legacy of Monsters, titled “Parallels and Interiors,” hitsApple TV+on December 1st. Check out the trailer below:
