Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniais shaping up to be not only the biggest Ant-Man movie to date, but also a cornerstone of the Multiverse Saga thanks to the inclusion of Kang the Conqueror, or at least one variant of him, as its villain. However, there is more to the Ant-Man threequel than that, with the film seeming to have several other potential villains waiting in the wings to cause trouble for Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang, including big-headed baddieMODOK.

Having already had his ownnow canceled animated series on Hulu, MODOK’s live-action debut has been teased for a little while since the first rumors of his inclusion inQuantumaniastarted to circulate. While MODOK has been seen in footage revealed exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con and again at D23 Expo, his appearance, along with the rest of theAnt-Man 3footage, is yet to be revealed to the public. For this reason, a new image ofQuantumaniamerchandise has revealed a first look at MODOK in a full body suit, which reportedly ties up with his appearance in the new footage. How exactly MODOK will fit into the story is currently unknown, which can also be said of the inclusion of Kang in the mix. At the weekend, Kevin Feige commentedthat Ant-Man and the Wasp:Quantumania will begin “a direct line” to the end of the Multiverse Saga, which will play out across the two Avengers movies,The Kang DynastyandSecret Wars, in the culmination of Phase 6.

Kang The Conqueror is Going to Be Showing Up in Many MCU Projects

From the moment he arrived in the Infinity Saga, Thanos was Thanos, even inAvengers: Endgamewhen he traveled to the future to take on the Avengers. Kang the Conqueror is a completely different villain who will appear in numerous forms, as his multiversal variants converge to bring about the biggest challenge the Avengers have faced so far. For Jonathan Majors, though, who has already made his first appearance as the Kang variant of He Who Remains inLoki, it has been a blast so far.

Speaking previously about playing the multiverse’s biggest threat, Majors explained that there are certainly several differences between the version of Kang that people have already seen and the ones that are coming, starting with his appearance inQuantumania. He toldGamesRadar:

“I felt pretty loose and free on the Loki set! The MCU and all the powers-that-be are just so open-hearted. The character is different so you move a different way; my psychology has shifted because of the character. He’s just a different guy. He Who Remains is not in Ant-Man. It’s Kang. But the people surrounding us – the cast, my leading man Paul Rudd – that’s different. Because Paul’s not Tom [Hiddleston]. This is a movie, not a TV show. I’ve been here since the beginning and I came in at the end on Loki.”

Having teased footage at two events, and with the movie set to be released in February 2023, it cannot be long before Marvel Studios release theAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniatrailer online for everyone to enjoy. Until then, fans will continue to look for any new images and tie-in merchandise they can find to just a little more detail about the opening movie of the MCU’s Phase 5.
