Back in February, we showed you a first look at what could be one of this summer’s mostoutrageous comedies,Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, arriving in theaters July 8. Today, 20th Century Fox has taken things up a notch by releasing an R-rated red band trailer, which features plenty of adult language.Zac Efronteams up withWorkaholicsstarAdam DeVineas the title characters, whose search for dates does not go as planned.
The story centers on hard-partying brothers Mike (Adam Devine) and Dave (Zac Efron), who place an online ad to find the perfect dates (Anna Kendrick,Aubrey Plaza) for their sister’s Hawaiian wedding. Hoping for a wild getaway, the boys instead find themselves outsmarted and out-partied by the uncontrollable duo who join them on their adventure. This comedy from20th Century Foxis slated to hit theaters July 8, going up against the animated comedyThe Secret Life of Pets.

While we still have a few months to see howMike and Dave Need Wedding Datesfares in theaters, it’s worth noting there aren’t too many comedies opening in July.Bad Momsopens on July 29, but it’s the only straight-up comedy hitting theaters that month.The BFG,The Legend of TarzanandThe Purge 3debut on July 1, whileGhostbusters,La La LandandThe Lakeopen on July 15.Star Trek Beyond,Ice Age: Collision CourseandLights Outdebut on July 22, withBad Momsand the action-packedJason Bourneclosing out the month on July 29. We’ll have to wait and see how this comedy will fare amid this competition in the month of July.
