BatmanandThe FlashstarMichael Keatonhas revealed whether he would ever consider another comeback as The Dark Knight. Speaking with Josh Horowitz on theHappy Sad Confusedpodcast, Keaton admitted that, while he doesn’t think “much” about once again donning the cape and cowl, it is something he could be open to should the right project come along.

Morbius and Vulture composite from Morbius

This certainly seems like the best way to think about theBatmanrole, which remains one of the most iconic in Keaton’s arsenal. Especially when his recent return as the DC icon was in the box-office bomb that was last year’sThe Flash.

‘Even They Couldn’t Quite Explain It’: Michael Keaton Reveals the Truth About His Morbius Cameo

Michael Keaton reprised his role as Vulture in Morbius, but it seems the actor knows as much about it as the rest of us.

After a seriously troubled production,The Flashwas released last year as part of the DCEU. Directed by Andy Muschietti,The Flashfinds Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) attempting to travek back in time in order to save his mother. Instead, he unleashes the madness of the multiverse, landing in a world where he must coax a very different Batman (Michael Keaton) out of retirement and save the world from General Zod. While both audiences and critics alike loved seeing Keaton back in the cowl, the movie was met with mixed reviews, andultimately bombed at the box officeafter grossing just $271.3 million worldwide against a budget of around $200 million.

Following such a disappointing box office result, and with the DC cinematic universe now all set to be rebooted by James Gunn and Peter Safran, it is unlikely that Keaton will be answering the Bat-signal again any time soon.
