Creedstar Michael B. Jordan has weighed in on the rumors he’ll one day playSupermanin an upcoming movie for Warner Bros. Last month, it was reported Jordan had met with the studio about his potential casting in a Superman movie, though the report also suggested such a project wouldn’t happen anytime soon because of Jordan’s packed schedule. Nevertheless, the possibility has conjured a lot of interest from fans and has been serving as a hot topic of fan discussion.

Now,Michael B. Jordanis directly commenting on the rumor and providing his own perspective on whether or not he’d really be open to donning the red cape. In a new interview with MTV News, Jordan was asked about the rumors of his possible casting, and the actor had this to say as a response:

“Honestly, I’ve beenrumored to play Morpheus, to Superman, toDuck Talesreboot, toPower Rangers, and everything in between. So, it’s like I’m kind of used to the rumors I’m playing something. But anything that I do dive into has got to be done the right way. It has to be full of authenticity. I’m a fan of comic books, you know? I understand, you know, the fans being upset at, ‘Oh no, why are they doing this, and why are they changing that?’ I would feel the same way about certain things. So, just know if I were to ever dabble in anything, it would be authentic and something that I feel like people would really support.”

In the interview, Jordan doesn’t confirm nor deny the news of his alleged meeting with Warner Bros. aboutpossibly taking on the Man of Steel. Still, it’s important to note here that Jordan’s response does suggest he’s rather open to the idea. However, citing his own appreciation for comic books, Jordan also seems to be making it clear here he isn’t about to take on such a role unless it’s written in such a way that would keep other DC comic book readers happy. For what it’s worth, the fan response to the rumored casting seems to have been largely positive.

The role of Superman on the big screen was mostrecently played by Henry CavillinMan of Steeland its crossover moviesBatman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeandJustice League. Cavill has since been rumored to be through with Superman as Warner Bros. sorts out their plans as to what’s next for the character. However, Cavill has more recently teased anotherSupermanmovie with himself once again reprising the part. “I’ve not given up the role,” Cavill bluntly stated in an interview with Men’s Health last month.

In any case, the future of Superman on the big screen remains unclear. Because movies are still being developed within the DCEU, there’s a chance we could see Cavill back in the role again, even ifMan of Steel 2never happens. Still, whether it’s Jordan, Cavill, or any other actor, we may not be seeing a soloSupermanmovie on the big screen for a long, long time. This news comes to us fromMTV News.
