Morrison also released a statement confirming that he will no longer be a part of the Fox series moving forward. You can read the statement below.
“Having the opportunity to be a judge on So You Think You Can Dance was an incredible honor for me. Therefore, it is my deepest regret to inform you that I will be leaving the show. After filming the audition rounds for the show and completing the selection of the 12 finalists, I did not follow competition production protocols, preventing me from being able to judge the competition fairly. I cannot apologize enough to all involved and I will be watching alongside you all on what I know will be one of the best seasons yet.”
It’s unclear what exactly Morrison had done to warrant his dismissal fromSo You Think You Can Dance, but a report byUS Weeklystates that it was a “minor infraction.” Fox representatives also told the publication that the network will “soon announce a new judge to the series for the next wave of the competition starting on June 15th featuring the Top 12 performing for America’s vote.”
So You Think You Can DanceBecause he has already done some filming before his dismissal, Morrison will appear in four episodes of the current season before vanishing from the program. Last month, it was reported that Morrison would be joining the series as a judge for the new season alongside JoJo Siwa and Twitch, while Cat Deeley returned as host. The new judges replaced Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, and Laurieann Gibson.
So You Think you may Dancehas been on the air since 2005, and Deeley has been with the series since season 2. The reality competition series follows dancers showcasing their talents in an attempt to be crowned as “America’s favorite dancer.” The show has won nine Emmy Awards, including seven wins for Outstanding Choreography.
