In the wake ofAvengers: Endgame, the MCU bid farewell to some major characters like Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, and Chris Evans' Captain America, paving the way for new characters to take over the ongoing franchise. This year, a new face will emerge in the upcomingThunderbolts*, and it seems Marvel is already working on a spin-off. This new face is the mysterious Bob, played in the team-up movie byTop Gun: MaverickstarLewis Pullman, and creator Paul Jenkins has now revealed that he is under contract to give Bob his own movie.
For those perhaps unaware, Bob also goes by the superhero name Sentry, and was created by Jenkins alongside artist Jae Lee for “The Sentry” #1 back in 2000. Often likened to Marvel’s Superman, Sentry comes with some serious baggage. Despite operating as a hero for years, both he and the world around him cannot remember him…and it’s thanks to him harboring two very different personalities inside his head. One being the benevolent superhero Sentry and the other beingthe hostile supervillain, Void.

Mystery Asterisk in ‘Thunderbolts*’ Title Has Been Explained… And Yes, It’s an Avengers Nod
An international poster for ‘Thunderbolts*’ has seemingly explained the meaning of the asterisk.
Clearly, Bob, AKA Sentry, AKA Void would make a fascinatingcentral character in his own spin-off, with Jenkins revealing that he has a contract with Marvel Studios to write that very thing.

“It’s very cool to have my work recognized, and one thing I will say is that I have a contract, at least with Marvel, that if there’s a Sentry movie, I write it. So that’s good news. I also worked on the Thunderbolts* movie.”
Bob Will Be Both a Hero and a Villain in ‘Thunderbolts*’
Bob will be introduced to audiences inThunderbolts*, which is due to hit theaters on May 2. The character’s alter egoshave been teased in trailers, which one particularly haunting sequence showing The Void erasing people using his molecule manipulation ability. Jenkins continued, revealing that he was heavily involved in the maing of Thunderbolts* and advised on how best to portray the character.
“I actually consulted on Thunderbolts*. I was able to give them insights into their character. It’s going to be interesting to see how it turns out. But I think some elements of it are good. As you can see from the trailer, the Sentry and the Void appear to be in Thunderbolts*.”

Directed by Jake Schreier and written by Eric Pearson, Lee Sung Jin, and Joanna Calo,Thunderbolts*sees several familiar faces returnalongside Lewis Pullman’s Bob, including Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko).
