Everyone loves a nostalgic throwback, and iconic Marvel Comics writer Dan Slott providedBill Murrayfans with a real blast from the past. In a post on his Instagram account, Slott reminded everyone that Murray once playedThe Fantastic Four’s Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, way back in 1975 – and moreover, fans can check it out for themselves on YouTube.
Fantastic Four
Murray recently made his first foray into the MCU, with a fleeting appearance inAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, way before that, and even before some of his first movie appearances, the actor played the role of Johnny Storm in a radio production ofThe Fantastic Four. It is a revelation that has blown the minds of many fans, who had no idea that the production even existed.
Sharing an image of a young Murray in his post, Slottshared a linkto a recording of the early breakout of Marvel Comics into other media. He wrote:

If you’ve never heard it before, there was a FANTASTIC FOUR radio show from 1975…and a young BILL MURRAY was the voice of the Human Torch. No. Really. Not kidding.
The voice work of Murray in the near-50-year-old broadcast pre-dates his early movie successes such asCaddyshack,StripesandGhostbusters, and it is one that has been lost to the archives for many fans. The note by Slott comes at a time when fans are awaiting Murray’s latest appearance in the role of Peter Venkman, inGhostbusters: Frozen Empire, and the arrival of a newFantastic Fourteam in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This time around, the character of Johnny Storm will be played byStranger Thingsbreakout star Joseph Quinn, who will join Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in next year’s Marvel movie.
