On Wednesday, Total Film Magazine unveiledthe cover for their May 2015 issue, which featuresMad Max: Fury RoadstarsCharlize TheronandTom Hardy. Today, the publication has released three new photos, which gives us a better look atCharlize Theron’s mechanical arm,Tom Hardybattling with an unspecified enemy, and “The Five Wives” played byRosie Huntington-Whiteley,Zoë Kravitz,Riley Keough, Courtney Eaton andAbbey Lee. Total Film also spoke withCharlize Theron, who revealed that directorGeorge Millerwanted a woman to stand alongsideTom Hardy’s Max Rockatansky.
“George [Miller]really wanted a woman to stand alongside Max, and that was all I knew, and I just thought, ‘Whoa, for a woman to stand next to him in that world, that would be pretty f—ing cool.’ He was really kind of exploring women in this world at every age and there was something, selfishly, that I thought was almost better than Max. It’s very hard for a woman to feel that way when she steps into a world like that.”
Mad Max: Fury Roadcenters on Max, who believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
