Unlike its predecessor, which made its debut on Netflix, theLiam Neesonaction sequelIce Road 2: Road to the Skywill change lanes and premiere on Amazon Prime Video following a major deal at the ongoing Cannes Market. As per a report byDeadline,Ice Road 2: Road to the Skyis likely to land on the streaming platform thanks to a $17 million deal that is currently being made for the international rights, making it the biggest deal at Cannes Market so far.
While the deal has not yet been finalized, the report states that it is nearing completion, meaning thatIce Road 2: Road to the Skywill debut on Prime Video everywhere but Germany, with the rights there being “sold in a separate multi-million dollar pact to a different buyer.”

Released on Netflix in 2021, the first chapter inThe Ice Roadsaga finds aged action hero Liam Neeson setting off with a team of truck drivers on a dangerous mission over frozen lakes and winter roads to help rescue workers trapped in a collapsed mine. Of course, he comes across all manner of villains as he navigates the tough terrain.

The sequel finds McCann honoring his late brother’s last wish and traveling to Nepal to scatter his ashes on Mt. Everest. While on a packed tour bus traversing the deadly 12,000 ft. terrain of the infamous Road to the Sky, Mike and his mountain guide encounter a group of Nepalese mercenaries and must fight not only to save themselves and the busload of innocent travelers, but also the local villagers’ homeland.
