Shortly afterYellowstonewent on its midseason hiatus, series starKevin Costnerpicked up a Golden Globe Award for his performance as John Dutton. The actor is not a stranger to the honor, as he won his first Golden Globe in 1991 for his work inDances with Wolves. Following additional nominations for the filmsJFKandTin Cup, Costner would again win in 2013 for his role in the limited seriesHatfields & McCoys. This new win marks his first nomination since.Costner won for Best Actor in a Television Series or Drama, and this was the only nomination at the event forYellowstone. The other nominees included Jeff Bridges as Dan Chase, aka Henry Dixon, aka Johnny Kohler for FX’sThe Old Man; Diego Luna as Cassian Andor for Disney+‘sStar Wars: Andor; Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill, aka Saul Goodman, aka Gene Takavic for AMC’sBetter Call Saul; and Adam Scott as Mark Scout for Apple TV+‘sSeverance. The actor was not present to accept the award, as noted on the program by presenter Regina Hall. Her reaction to Costner’s absence seems to have been a highlight for many of the viewers watching the Golden Globes. She couldn’t help herself from laughing while reading from the teleprompter that Costner was taking shelter in Santa Barbara, sarcastically remarking that the actor needs prayers.

Yellowstone Goes Strong In Its Fifth Season
Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson,Yellowstoneoriginally debuted in 2018. It has consistently garnered high viewership and acclaim, now halfway through its fifth season and just as popular as ever. Costner recently spoke about how he only intended to make one season, but before he knew it, they’ve come this far. He isn’t saying for sure exactly how long he will be a part of the universe beyond saying he’ll leave from his role as John Dutton at a time when he feels is right.
“I wasonly going to do one season, but I’ve done this many,” the actor told USA Today. “I give everything I can to what I’m doing. But the moment I feel that it’s not right, I’m just going to step away.”
Yellowstonewill return to Paramount Network with its midseason 5 premiere in thesummer of 2023.
