The future of theJohn Wickfranchise seemingly doesn’t rest on the shoulders ofKeanu Reeves, but on his knees. His poor, aging knees. While many fans of the action franchise would love to see Reeves kicking ass again as the dog-loving assassin, the actor himself has reservations, as he doesn’t know whether his body can keep up with the demands of the role.
TheJohn Wicksaga currently sits in the lap of Ana de Armas, who will leadFrom the World of John Wick: Ballerina(like anyone is ever going to call it by that full title) in 2025.The spinoff movie focuses on de Armas’ assassin, Eva Macarro, who is trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma organization and is out for revenge over the death of her father. The film costars Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Anjelica Huston, Lance Reddick, and Reeves reprising his role as John Wick.

However, the chances of Reeves returning as the lead of another movie in the franchise received a less than positive reaction in an interview withCBS News. He said:
“you may never say never. My knees right now are saying ‘I can’t do another “John Wick.”‘ So my heart does but I don’t know if my knees can do it.”

How Likely is Another ‘John Wick’ Sequel?
John Wick: Chapter 4ended with the assumed death of the title character, making it seem like the franchise was destined to end with the brutal culmination of its four-movie story. In fact, both Reeves and director Chad Stahelski made it clear that they did not believe that a fifth movie would happen in the immediate wake of Chapter4’s release. Also, Reeves previously said that he definitely would not consider another sequel until Stahelski was at the helm.
“I mean, I wouldn’t do a ‘John Wick’ film without [director] Chad Stahelski. We’d have to see what that looked like. For me, it feels really right that John Wick finds peace.”

However, recently, Stahelski has opened a small door of possibility on another Wick outing, even if it still remains unlikely. One thing that is clear from comments made by Stahelski back in October, is that a fifthJohn Wickmovie would not just be a cash grab. He said:
“Keanu and I are both like, if we wake up tomorrow and there’s a good idea, we’re doing it. you’re able to bet your ass. If we felt we weren’t ripping the fans off and had more to give, I’d do it tomorrow. I just don’t have that right now.”
