Basketball Wivesstar Brooke Bailey is mourning the death of her only daughter, Kayla Bailey,who diedon Sunday, July 29, 2025, of undisclosed causes at the age of 25. Kayla was involved in a car accident earlier on Sunday.
The reality star, 45, announced her daughter’s passing in a poston Instagram. “Forever my baby, Pretty Black aka Kayla Nicole Bailey. This is not a goodbye. Mommy will see you soon,” Brooke captioned a series of photos of her daughter over the years on September 25’s Instagram post.

PerToday, the VH1 star also thanked fans for their support in her IG Stories, saying:
My baby girl is so Loved by all of youuuuu!!! The love and support my family has received today is unreal and so appreciated. Kayla left a mark on so many lives. She entered the room and demanded respect, love and attention. If you had the pleasure of meeting her and being friends with her, she has forever changed your life.
The VH1 explained that she was “fasting and praying” for several days before Kayla’s death, believing that she was preparing “for something else.” Now, she understood, “It was G-d preparing me for this moment in my life. Although, I was not prepared, I am grateful for the 25 years he Blessed me to have HIS child. To love her, to hold her, to teach her, to comfort her. She was my happiness on earth.”
Brooke also changed her Instagram bio to read: “FOREVER Kayla Nicole Bailey 3/2/97-9/25/22 #PrettyBlack.”

Kayla Bailey Was in a Car Accident
On Sunday, September 25, it was announced that Kayla had been in a car accident. While her cause of death remains unknown, there are reports that she died as a result of her injuries. Her mother Brooke appeared to confirm the details by re-posting an article from a fan account about the crash to social media.
Kayla is best known as the daughter of Brooke Bailey, who appeared on Season 2 ofBasketball Wives LAand Season 10 ofBasketball Wives. She was a Memphis “certified hairstylist,” according to her social media accounts. She had a dedicated Instagram page for her business, KNB Inc.
Basketball Wiveshas aired ten seasons to date, and in the most recent season, Brooke underwent in vitro fertilization to try and increase her family size.
