The Flashseason 4 is very near and there is a whole lot to look forward to this year. Barry Allen will be making his return after spending a good chunk of time in the Speed Force, Wally West is going to have a lot more experience as the show’s resident Speedster and we are going to have some brand new villains to enjoy. Now, another bad guy has been added to the roster, asBattlestar Galactica’sKatee Sackhoffhas boardedThe Flashseason 4 as Amunet Black.
The news comes courtesy ofEntertainment Weeklywho report that Katee Sackhoff will portray Amunet Black on the fifth episode ofThe Flash season 4, which is titledGirl’s Night Out. That title is a little tough to discern anything from, but we can guess that Black won’t be the only female character prominently featured in the episode. As far as this report goes, the character is said to be a recurring villain, but it doesn’t specify when we will see her pop up again. As we’ve seen,The Flashdoesn’t have all that many one-and-done villains. Especially when someone like Katee Sackhoff is playing said villain.
Unless you are a diehardDC Comics reader, it is entirely possible that you’ve never heard of Amunet Black, aka Blacksmith. The character has only appeared in 21 issues across various titles over the years, but she is the leader of the underground black market known as the Network, which is a black market that operates in Central City. So maybeThe Flashseason 4 is going to be planting some seeds for the Network to show up down the line. Little is known about the character’s origin, but she has the power to mold metal and bond it with flesh. She used this power to fuse her own flesh with a powerful metal. She is also a skilled leader and strategist, so she should pose a very credible threat to Barry Allen and the gang this season.
Katee Sackhoff may be joiningThe Flashseason 4 as a new villain, but it is Neil Sandilands who will play the main villain in the upcoming season asThe Thinker. This had been teased previously by Abra Kadabra duringThe Flashseason 3. The Thinker (aka Clifford DeVoe) is a genius level inventor that has mind control and telekinesis powers that come from his “Thinking Cap.” Some other new additions include Danny Trejo as Breacher, who is the father of Gypsy (Jessica Camacho). Kim Engelbrecht will also be coming on board as The Mechanic, who plays the right hand to the Thinker. Team Flash is going to have their hands full.
Aside from her work onBattlestar Galactica, Katee Sackhoff is also known for her work onLongmireand24. She also met with Marvel at one point or another for a role, but that didn’t pan out. She was a very strong favorite on the fan side of things to take on the role ofCaptain Marvelbefore Brie Larson got the gig. It may not be as big of a role, but she wound up over at DC instead. The Flashseason 4 is set to debut on The CW on October 10.
